Joan Elizabeth Manchester

Joan Elizabeth Manchester, aged 95, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2026. She was born on October 19, 1930, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to the late John August and Cora Sycreness (Allen) Williams.

Throughout her life, Joan exemplified a spirit of joy and creativity. She worked as a layout designer for Inter Collegiate Press, but her true passions extended far beyond her career. Joan found happiness in singing daily, sewing, and sharing adventures on motorcycle trips across various states with her beloved husband, Claude. Their love story began at a church revival in Arkansas, where they first met, culminating in a marriage that lasted 53 cherished years.

As the second oldest of twelve siblings, Joan's family was significant to her. She is survived by five of her siblings, illustrating the strong familial bonds she nurtured throughout her life. Her legacy continues through her three children, Wayne, Sharon, and Cheryl, as well as her eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

Joan was an avid reader, enjoying countless romance novels during her leisure time, and her warm and loving spirit will be deeply missed by those who had the fortune to know her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Park Lawn Funeral Home, located at 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, where Joan will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Green Lawn Cemetery.
