John "Mike" Michael Nolan, 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at his residence in Kansas City, MO. He was born March 13, 1938 in Wentworth, MO to Gertrude (Gorman) and Joseph V. Nolan. John was reared by his maternal Grandmother, Effie Gorman from age 12 after the passing of his parents.
He graduated from Pierce City High School where he was very active in all sports and other activities. There he met the love of his life, Jacquelynne Brown who survives. They were married on September 8, 1956 in Springfield, Mo. and were married nearly 69 years.
They made their home in Kansas City, Mo in 1957 and moved to the Northland in 1959 and have remained there.
John served in the Missouri National Guards for eight years as Staff Sergeant in charge of Food Services for his unit. He worked for Safeway Meat Warehouse and delivered meat products for Mauer Neuer Meat Co. over Kansas City and out lying towns for 12 years and was a Business Agent for Teamster Local 955 for the following 7 years.
He loved sales and was involved with the Insurance and Securities fields and subsequently into Real Estate sales, holding a Brokers License and remaining there until retirement. He bought, remodeled and sold several homes and rentals during that time.
He was involved in the Northland Baseball League as a coach and followed his three sons in the Hornets Football Program, as well as their Basketball games and musical performances.
John enjoyed traveling and camping with the family, visiting many states, going on several cruises and spending their 50th Wedding Anniversary in a Castle in Ireland and subsequent month traveling through out, following his maternal and paternal family roots.
He was a strong, confident and loving husband, father and talented provider and was always there with a helping hand when the need arose. He loved nothing better than to talk and visit with everyone.
When moving to McCrite Plaza, John was looking forward to socializing and participating in events with new found friends, but Fate intervened.
John was also predeceased by his two sisters and three sons.
He leaves six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
