Johnathan Raymond Chrisp, 65, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on July 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 16, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Eldon and Helen (Goslin) Chrisp, John was a lifelong resident who loved his community, his career, and above all, his family.

John was a man of remarkable work ethic and expertise. He began his career in the battery industry in late 80's working for GNB Forklift Batteries in Kansas City. He then started Battery Work Retail and Service Company from 2003 to 2011, that he successfully owned and operated. He later brought his extensive knowledge to the Midwest Power Industry as a dedicated technician and salesman of industrial batteries.

John truly loved his work and the people he worked with. Known for his willingness to help and his unmatched experience, his colleagues affectionately dubbed him “The Battery Doctor.” In recognition of his hard work and outstanding sales achievements, the company frequently honored John and his wife, Teresa, with wonderful trips to Aruba, Italy, and other beautiful destinations.

John’s greatest joy was exploring the world alongside Teresa, his true soulmate and the absolute love of his life. Together, they journeyed far beyond the borders of their own country, venturing into beautiful, breathless corners of the globe. Every destination became a canvas for shared adventures and unforgettable moments. The deep, mutual devotion they held for one another turned every trip into a treasure, crafting the kind of beautiful memories and the kind of rare, profound love that echoes through eternity.

Outside of work, John was a passionate, lifelong fan of Kansas City sports, always cheering loudly for the KC Royals and his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Whenever they did it just right and crossed the goal line, you could always count on hearing John shout: “Oh yeah baby!”.

Nothing meant more to John than his family. He cherished family outings to Missouri lakes, especially Smithville Lake, where he loved taking everyone fishing, enjoying boat rides, and riding his Sea-Doo.

John was preceded in death by: son, Glenn, His parents, Eldon and Helen Chrisp, His siblings, Shelia McDonald, Terry Chrisp, Latrice Chrisp, and Eldon Chrisp

He leaves behind a vast, loving legacy and is survived by the love of his life Teresa, with whom he shared 26 beautiful years. His children: Cassie (Bobby), Jonnie (Tod), Misty (Kyle), Kristy (Joe), Ashley (Cam), Josh (Heather), Ronnie, Shelly, Brandi, Ricki, TJ and Robbie, 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, His sisters, Shaira Burris and Reginnia Campbell and brother Aaron Chrisp.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 Route 291 Highway, Liberty, MO 64068. A memorial service will follow immediately after at 11:00am. In celebration of John's life and his love for his team, the family warmly invites everyone to wear their favorite Chiefs jersey to the services.

John never knew a stranger, to him, every person was just a friend he hadn’t made yet. While his kindness extended to all, his deepest love was always to his beloved family, who were the center of his world. John was a devoted husband, father, as a doting grandpa affectionately known as "Papa John" his greatest joy was spoiling his grandchildren and filling their lives with laughter, wisdom, and endless love.
