Johnnie William Bell was born June 24, 1931, in Kansas City to the late Fred and Alberta Bell. His parents, two sisters Clara Cherry, Stella Ward and two sons Harry Thompson, Darrell Thompson preceded him in death.

 He received his formal education attending R.T. Coles and Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age at Wabash Avenue Church of God in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Bell was a soft spoken and quiet man, yet maintained a strong presence firmly devoted to God, his family and his friends. He sang in the choir for many years and was a member of KC Coral Ensemble. His baritone voice was warm like velvet, it could calm the spirit of many. Singing was his passion.

 He was united in holy matrimony to Mary Bell on April 24, 1983 in Kansas City, Missouri. To this union no children were born, they became a blended family,

 Mr. Bell worked for many years and retired from Armco Steel Inc. as a Combustion Engineer. His most memorable projects were the New Federal Building, Indian Spring Shopping Center, Penn Valley Community College, Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, Mary Harmon Weeks Elementary School and Jack Stack’s Barbecue Pits.

 Mr. Bell received several awards. He was a LifeTime Member, November 1960 – November 2010 with the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. As a member of the Pioneer Club he received the honor of Pioneer of the week over the years.

 He loved to travel. He traveled for business and leisure. His favorite three hobbies were boxing, vintage model car collections, and motorcycling. Mr. Bell loved taking weekend trips on his GoldWing three wheeler as a member of the Easy Rider Motorcycle Club for many years.

 He had a strong fashion sense, whether for casual attire or suits, his headgear matched.

 On June 24, 2024 the Lord blessed Mr. Bell to celebrate his 93rd birthday with his family. He departed this life on August 29, 2024. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mary Bell, his daughters Johnnie Ann York (Veron), Andrea Jones (Martin), Alberta Colbert (Michael), Regina Thompson, Lorna Dewberry, son Michael Bell (Kathy), 18 grand-children, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 When asked if there’s anything he would like to share he said “Do all the good you can with whomever you can and may God Bless You”.
