Hazel Fern Johnston

Hazel Fern (Dale) Johnston, the last of 10 children born to Sam and Emma (Phillips) Dale went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2022. She attended Prairie Home Grade school, Kearney High School and Draughon’s Business College. She retired in 1985 from A.M. Castle Metal. She was a member of Prairie Home Baptist Church, where she devoted her time and talent as organist. She enjoyed her music, having no formal training, drawing and painting. She was well known in the neighborhood as the lady working in her yard and garden. She hated weeds. Her husband Norman preceded her in death. She leaves her children, Marsha McNeil (Joe), James Johnston, Thomas (Janelle) Johnston; grandchildren, Amanda McNeil, Elli Adams, Lacy McNeil, Luke and Jake Johnston; great grandchildren, Joseph Adams, Brayden and Brody Grant, Garrett and Reagan Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 10-11 am and service at 11 am on Wednesday, June 1, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Liberty. Burial at Providence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Providence Cemetery.
