Joyce D. “Jodie” or “Joy” Lang, 85, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025. She was born November 2, 1940, in Clinton County, Missouri to the late Howard and Gertie (Eskridge) Taylor.
Joyce had many activities and jobs over the years, she worked for the Kansas City Police Department, and the IRS as a tax examiner. She was also a neighborhood leader of the Marlborough Pride for 6 years, where she was instrumental in establishing and naming the Marlborough Park. She was a little league baseball coach. She was on the school board of Center Elementary school and Center Annex. Joyce married the love of her life William Henry Lang on May 24, 1957.
She was the loving mother of William “Bill” Lang and Christopher “Woody” Lang, she leaves behind her two sons and their families, 13 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren, and her sister, Betty Denyer.
She was also the “adopted Mom” of Chad, Matthew, Micah Silvey, Jeff Messmer, Chris Lewis, and many others. A dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband William who died in 2009; brothers Carl Taylor and Larry Zoellers, and sister Shirley Russell.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 6-8 PM at Park Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 PM with a visitation beginning at 12 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband William in Memorial Park Cemetery.
If you so desire, memorial contributions may be made out to Chrisopher Lang to give to Kansas City Zoo in memory of Joyce.
