Karen Jean Compton

Karen Jean Sharp, Compton, 70, passed away peacefully Thursday April 24, 2025. She was born April 29 1954, in Lawrence, Kansas to Newell Sharp and Emma Jeanette Sharp, Stein. 

She attended Liberty High School, class of 1973. She received a Master's degree in Psychology at Central Methodist University. In 1973 she married Silas Compton, III.  

Karen became a substance abuse counselor at East Missouri Behavioral Health. She loved horses and pretty much any animal and spent many hours with her 15 grandchildren before she became sick. 

She is survived by her ex husband Silas Compton III, sister Linda kinne, 4 children:  Honey, Silas IV, Candice and Sonny, her grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 4 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
