Karen Horton

Karen Horton passed away on July 18, 2025. She was born March 4, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, the second of four children to Truman and Tillie (Burns) Bixby. She grew up alongside her siblings Lillian, Tommy and Trudy.

She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Horton; siblings Lillian, Tommy, Trudy; niece Tina; and nephew Chris.

Karen leaves behind family that loved her dearly, including nieces Missy, Katie, Michelle, Cathy; nephews Marion, Shawn, TJ; many great-nieces and nephews. Karen had a soft spot for animals, especially her cherished colony of kitties, who brought her comfort and joy throughout her life.

She will be greatly missed by all. A private family gathering will be held at Park Lawn Northland Chapel (816) 781-8228.
