Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 1640 N Hwy 291, Liberty, Missouri 64068. Graveside Services with full Military Honors will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 03, 2026 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus. MO-13, Higginsville, Missouri 64037. Officiating will be Father Taylor Tracy of Pheonix Hospice.
Kerry Arden Gingerich “Cook”, 66, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, under Hospice care and surrounded by family.
Kerry was born on August 31, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Cathy, children, Allan Anislag (Sarah), Kevin Gingerich, Jennifer Gingerich, stepdaughters, Rachel Callihan, and Rebecca Rohn. Grandchildren, Brooklyn Stewart, Shire, Thoren and Wilder Anislag, Laiken and Harper Callihan. Siblings, Kim Gingerich (Madelle), Vicky Casey, Terry Gingerich (Riki), and Tony Gingerich (Cindy), Brother-in-law, Jerry Richmond (Diane) and numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1977 Kerry graduated from Kirksville High School. Shortly after he began his military career, proudly serving his country for 22 years in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer, before retiring in June of 1999. His time in service reflected his strength of character, leadership, and commitment to others. Following his military retirement, Kerry continued his professional career as a Senior Engineering Manager at Sprint, where he worked until 2018.
Kerry will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, the pride he took in being a husband, father, brother, and especially “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren. He took great pride and joy, hosting holidays and family gatherings. This is how he demonstrated love for his family. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed attending games with his family.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
