Dorothy Irene Kohler, age 92, passed away, surrounded by family, on December 11, 2022. Dorothy was born September 18, 1930 to Sidney and Hazel Downey in Marienthal Kansas. She graduated from Kearney Highschool in 1947. She married Wayne Ford in May 1949 and had 3 children together Cynthia Ann Ford (Cindy Rice), Jeffrey Wayne Ford, and Mona Diane Ford (Brimeyer). She was an executive secretary in the marketing department at Bendix Corporation in Davenport Iowa and retired in 1991. Dorothy was a master at shorthand and family recalls how fast she would write her convention notes in shorthand. She was very creative and loved decorating, putting together flower arrangements, beautiful cross stitching, scrap booking along with many other arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved serving God, reading her Bible, singing hymns, going to fellowship meetings and conventions. She was a caring and gentle person, always wearing a smile and to know her was to love her.

She married Wayne Ford in May 1949 and had 3 children together Cynthia Ann Ford (Cindy Rice), Jeffrey Wayne Ford, and Mona Diane Ford (Brimeyer). In 1972 Dorothy married John Kohler and he had two children Cheri Kohler (Moore) and Jon David Kohler that Dorothy was a stepmother to for many years . John Kohler passed away in 1992.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished and she will be missed by so many.

Visitation will be 12PM, with services to follow at 1PM, Friday, December 16 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
