Celebration of Life
Liberty Church of the Nazarene

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 4 at Liberty Church of the Nazarene, 1400 Southview Dr., Liberty, MO. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, 17002 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, Kansas 66220 or Gideon’s International, P. O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800, or a favorite charity of your choice.
Larry Wolfe, 74, passed into the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Larry was born on August 20, 1951, in Springfield, MO, to Lewis and Dorothy Wolfe. He attended Hillcrest High School in Springfield. After losing his vision, he attended Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis, Mo, graduating in 1970. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Drury College in Springfield in 1975, and a master’s from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1977. Larry worked as an X-ray processing technician at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City, where he was given several service awards and was named “Handicapped Employee of the Year.”
Larry married Ella Dow on December 31, 1983, in Richmond, MO, where they lived for five years before moving to Liberty and later to their current home in Kansas City. They were blessed with one son, Luke.
Larry was an active member of Liberty Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed studying the Bible and listening to Christian music, audio books, and Chiefs football. He was a kind, gentle, easygoing man, who demonstrated love to his family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Dorothy Wolfe. He is survived by his wife, Ella, and son, Luke.
