LaVeta Jane Akers, beloved mother, cherished friend, and devoted family member, passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on April 29th 2024 at home with her family. LaVeta's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and her vibrant spirit that brought joy to all who knew her. 

Born September 28, 1962, LaVeta was a mother of three, Shawnna, Nicole, and Christopher (aka Bubba) whose greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her loved ones. She poured her heart and soul into creating cherished memories with her family, whether it was gathering for holiday celebrations, sharing laughter around the dinner table, or embarking on adventures together. 

LaVeta was a woman of boundless energy, always on the go and eager to explore new places and experiences. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life inspired those around her to embrace each moment with enthusiasm and optimism. LaVeta lived life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same.

In addition to her dedication to her family, LaVeta was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering compassion for others. She loved, liked, and even disliked but you always knew where she stood with you.

LaVeta leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by her family and friends. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

LaVeta was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Leon Akers, Her parents Juanita and Harley Phillips, and her brother Bruce Phillips. She is survived by her children Shawnna Cindric ( Josh Cindric), Nicole Downs (Jason Downs), Christopher Eker (Michelle Bixby), LOTS of grandkids, Dallas, Tyler, Samantha, Zoey, Phoenix, Jason, Savanah, C.J., Khloe and some greats as well Kash and Kruz. 

LaVeta Jane Akers will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life's journey She made it clear to us that “she didn’t care what the obituary said because she won't be here to read it.”……com
