Leonard L. Alden, age  91, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2025.

Born on May 26, 1933, in Kidder, Missouri, to Everett and Edith Alden, Leonard graduated from Kidder High School in 1951 before serving his country in the United States Army. On May 7, 1955, he married Fayrenne (McCrackin) Alden and together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage, raising three children: Mark Alden, Kelley Stuck and Brenda Sander. The couple farmed in Hamilton, Missouri, until 1984, when they relocated to Kansas City.

After retiring in 1998, Leonard and Fayrenne traveled across the United States in their RV, working in several National Parks and creating cherished memories with their children and grandchildren. He was a dedicated father who instilled in his children a love for the land, a strong work ethic and the ability to fix just about anything. He encouraged them to pursue their goals and celebrated their accomplishments with pride. A skilled craftsman and innovative farmer, Leonard continually challenged himself to learn new skills throughout his life. He created beautiful woodworking pieces using the lathe he received from his children for his 80th birthday. Known for his wit and sense of fun, he brought joy to those around him.

Leonard is survived by his daughters Kelley Stuck and Brenda Sander (Duane) of Warsaw, MO; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Fayrenne Alden, son Mark Alden (Susan Goforth); parents Everett and Edith; brothers Everett (Junior) and Glenn.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leonard's honor may be sent to the Benton County Health Department, PO Box 935, Warsaw, MO 65355.
