Lester L. Pruett Jr.

Lester L. Pruett, Jr., aged 71 of Raytown, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on December 9, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, Lester was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and cousin.

He was a dedicated Millwright performing industrial maintenance for 33 years at Owens Corning before retiring in 2020. Lester enjoyed tinkering in his garage and playing with his grandson.

Lester went to Grandview High School and Longview Community College. After school, he was a proud member of the United States Army from 1971-1974.

Lester was predeceased by his father, Lester L. Pruett, Sr. and his brother in law, David Parson. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Renee Pruett (Eric) and 3 year old grandson, Ira Lester Brown, of Parkville, Missouri, his loving mother and step father, Eunice McCune (Phillips) and James McCune of Sedalia, Missouri.

He also leaves two sisters, Donna Parson, Raytown, Missouri, and Kellie Franklin (James) of Kansas City, Missourii. Three nieces, Jackie Tharnish of Topeka, Kansas, Sarah Stephenson (Mac) of Olathe, Kansas and Lauren Franklin (Sean) of Raytown, Missouri. Many close cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 29, 5-7 p.m. at Park Lawn Funeral Home at 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 30 at 12 noon at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri.

Donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri, in lieu of flowers.
