She was born March 27, 1952 in St. Joseph, MO, the cherished daughter of Vern and Carrie Bell. Lila was the youngest of two children and was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Vancil Bell.

In December of 1981, Lila embarked on a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion when she married her steadfast husband, Dwight Wietharn. Together, they shared 45 years of joy, support, and cherished memories.

Lila was a woman of remarkable achievements and deep commitments. She graduated from Stanberry High School in Stanberry, MO and eventually pursued higher education at Park University in Parkville, MO, where she excelled academically, earning Magna Cum Laude honors in her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration.

Her professional journey was marked by unwavering dedication to public service. For 24 years, Lila served the City of Kansas City, MO, with distinction, contributing her talents and expertise in various administrative support roles until her well-deserved retirement in 2008.

Lila had a passion for animals, particularly cats, whose companionship brought her immense comfort and joy. She found delight in exploring the beauty of America through travel, indulged in the thrill of antiquing, and constantly sought new hobbies to enrich her life. An avid fan of classic Western films, she found solace in the nostalgia of bygone eras.
