In Loving Memory of Linda Sue Clemens
Linda Sue Clemens, 76, a longtime resident of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 5:44 pm, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 23, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Walter and Violet (Moul) Winkler.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Service at 5:00 pm at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri. In accordance with Linda’s wishes, she has been cremated and ashes will be placed at Mt. Washington Cemetery at a later date.
Linda was a beautiful soul whose kindness and unconditional love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether through her warm hugs, comforting words, laughter, joyful spirit, or faithful devotion, she made those around her feel deeply loved and cherished. She was the heart of our family – a source of strength, guidance, and unwavering support. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were the center of her world. The memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Linda graduated from Van Horn High School with the Class of 1967 and was also a member of the Moose Fraternity Lodge 2414 since 1999. She spent her life creating meaningful connections, giving selflessly, and enjoyed reconnecting with many old friends.
Linda was a devoted mother to her son, Michael Clemens (Cathie) of Independence; daughter, Michele Michael (Nathan) of Blue Springs; and son, Mark Clemens (Kristi) of Grain Valley. She was a proud grandma to Corbin Michael, Dalton Michael, Emmory Michael, Camryn Savage, Collin Clemens, Kayla Clemens, Kelli Clemens, and great grandma to Brenley Savage. Linda also leaves behind her sister, Nancy Amor, and brother, Brady Winkler, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Winkler; sister, Cathy Mills; sisters-in-law, Sharon Winkler and Connie Winkler; nephew, Scott McDaniel, and many other dear relatives and friends whom she looked forward to seeing again.
Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, free from pain and suffering. Her love will remain with us always – in every family gathering, every shared story, and every moment we hold dear.
“The world is a little less bright without her, but Heaven is a little more beautiful with her there.”
