Linda Kay Wilson, 82, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 20th, after a courageous battle with liver disease. Her spirit, resilience, and unwavering love for her family will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, to the loving parents Orval and Betty Wilson. She graduated from Southeast High School and went on to marry David Kessler for 13 years, raising three daughters: Kimberly (Kim), Melissa, and Karissa (Kari).
After divorcing, she married Terry Bresette.
Linda was a dedicated working mother who balanced her career in the insurance industry with grace and determination. She held positions at Kansas City Life, The Lewer Agency, and retired from Concannon and Associates. Her commitment to her profession was evident when she became a licensed property and casualty agent, passing the agent test on her first attempt. As a property claims adjuster she was licensed in Missouri and Oklahoma, and earned the respect of her colleagues and clients alike. One of her proudest achievements was receiving an award for excellence from the FBI.
Family was the cornerstone of Linda's life. She devoted herself to caring for her father full-time for over seven years, exemplifying her selflessness and love. Her legacy lives on through her sister, Charlene Lonneke, her three daughters and their spouses—Kim (Scott), Melissa (Stephen) and Kari—and her six grandchildren and spouses: Kristy (Vince), Kori, Kasey (Leslee), Ian (Sami), Aaron (Kaylene), and Alec. Linda was also a proud great-grandmother to seven wonderful great-grandchildren: Kaybren, Hunter, Kiyra, Kaliyah, Vinny, Olivia, and Krew. And of course Sky (Kari’s dog) who listen to her stories and kept her company.
She also loved the KC Chiefs, fishing, gardening, bowling, and talking!
Linda's unwavering love will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
Rest in peace in heaven Mom. Your love will forever remain in our hearts. ❤️
