Lisa Lynn Mastin passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 60, following a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 9, 1966, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Gary and Sandra (Hoover) Maughan. She graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri, with the Class of 1984.
Lisa was a proud mother. She welcomed her daughter Tabitha Lynn in 1986, followed by Samantha Jo in 1987. She built a career in property management, where she especially cherished the relationships she formed with her tenants and their pets, who held a special place in her heart.
A passionate animal lover and advocate, Lisa dedicated much of her time to rescuing and caring for neglected and abandoned animals, particularly cats. She found joy in spending time with family and friends, returning to her home state of Nebraska, and exploring vintage festivals and antique shops. Known for her free spirit, Lisa embraced all things colorful, with a special love for hippie culture and tie-dye.
As an adopted only child, Lisa was overjoyed later in life to discover her biological half-siblings: Randi, Stephanie, Kerri, Jeff, Larry, and Lauri. The deep bonds they formed brought her great happiness, and she treasured the love and connection they shared.
Lisa is lovingly remembered by her parents, Gary and Sandra Maughan; her daughters, Tabitha (Brett) Fjoser and Samantha Elliott; and her cherished grandchildren, Cayden, Taylor, and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Steve Mastin, and her sister, Randi Hromas.
