Lovis Christine Clouse

Lovis Christine (Hoff) Clouse “Chris”, 85, of Moberly, MO. was ushered into glory Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born in Kansas City, MO, March 28, 1940, to the union of her parents, Wilbur and Eileen Hoff.

Chris was a long-time member of Besonia Baptist Church as well as Red Bridge Baptist and MT. Washington Baptist churches. Her final years were spent at Abundant Life Church and then Carpenter Street Baptist in Moberly. She was actively involved in serving her local church and in her community. Chris raised three sons which introduced her to serving the local schools as PTA president, “Picture Lady”, Elementary school fairs and fundraisers, and was usually in the stands as a supporter of her kid’s wrestling, playing football, school plays, and many other activities.

She graduated from Southeast High school and worked for the IRS, Kansas City Police Department, and then found her love of working retail at Venture department store and the Jone’s Store Company.

She Married her “Tweety” Jim Clouse and together they had four children. Jennifer, who preceded her in death when she was an infant, and is survived by her three sons, Paul Clouse and his wife Sharon (Bergen) of Kansas City, Richard and his wife Teresa (Steele), of Moberly, MO., and John and his wife Dana (Bailes), of Oskaloosa, KS.

Those three boys made her a proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren with number 17 due this summer.

Preceding her in death were her Husband, Jim, a brother, John, her parents, Wilbur and Eileen, her daughter, Jennifer, and great-granddaughter, Aurora.

Words of comfort and celebration can be shared with the family at a visitation held at Park Lawn Funeral Home 8251 Hillcrest Road, Friday, April 25th from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by services at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
