MaeDella Elizabeth Waxter

MaeDella Elizabeth Dean Waxter (Knighten), was born on July 13th, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Robert Dean and Clara Sanders (Dean). She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 27th, 2024 at Centerpointe Medical Center. She was the widow of Johnny L. Waxter. They shared around 50 years of marriage together. She accepted The Lord in her life at a young age.

 

 She attended R.T. Coles Junior High School and started at a young age in the workforce working various factory positions including the Lake City Ammunition Plant. She later moved to Kenner, Louisiana in 1985 and started working at Fisherman cove then Intralox manufacturing plant and retired. She moved back to Kansas City in 1999 and worked at Durham School Services and retired in 2016. She later joined Faith Deliverance COGIC under her cousin Pastor J.J. Fisher.

 

 MaeDella was known for her love, kindness and generosity. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling, music, playing cards and most of all laughter with her friends and family. She is predeceased by her husband Johnny L. Waxter(Daryl Waxter), Nollia Knighten Sr.(Nollie Knighten Jr), her brother Robert “Big Bob” Dean, and her children Rosa Lee Knighten(Donnetta Knighten, Gerard Knighten) and Brenda Knighten. She is survived by her children Debrah Ann Dawn(Nathaniel Dawn), Clara Boxly, Yvonne Jones, Reggie Waxter and Cynthia Waxter and her “special son” Dr. Ronald Roland. Her grandchildren Martino Knighten(Christina Knighten), Tylisa “Tyd-Bo” Boxly(Tyquana Boxly), Terrell Knighten, Maquita Knighten, Stefan Mcdaniels(Shane McDaniels), Raynell McDaniels, Keisha Smith(Ron Smith), Aishia “Iedy” Lewis, Noletta Knighten, Tisha Knighten, Nyesha Holmes, Keosha Knighten, Bri Knighten, Trey Knighten, Janise Knighten, The Dean Family and a host of great grands, great-great grands, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends! its just too many to name!
