Marcia L. Moore, 72, of Lee’s Summit MO passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Park Lawn Chapel, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City MO. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) 3303 Frederick Ave, St Joseph MO 64506.
She was born with cerebral palsy in Kansas City, MO on February 25, 1952. She attended Crippled Children’s Nursey School through the UCP and the R.J. Delano School in the Kansas City Public School District. In 1956, Marcia was selected as the Kansas City Easter Seals poster child. She worked at the Cass County Workshop in the early 1980’s. She spent much of her life in the Kansas City area before splitting her time between Alamo, Texas and the Lake of the Ozarks with her parents. The last 25 years were spent in Pleasant Hill with her dad, Lone Jack with her niece and Lee’s Summit at Wilshire at Lakewood Rehab Center. She was a member of Lee’s Summit Christian Church where she enjoyed worship and fellowship.
Marcia had the sweetest soul. She was so smart and could remember things and dates that the rest could not. She valued being able to do as much for herself as possible. She loved her family and spending time with them camping, traveling, playing games and having reunions & picnics. She made many friends along the way, and she couldn’t wait to introduce you to the next person she met. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, crafts, reading, puzzles, social media and watching movies. Marcia loved learning about history.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl E. and Juanita C. Moore. She leaves behind her siblings Pat Moore Wynn of Pleasant Hill and David E. Moore (Kathy) of Lee’s Summit, four nieces Christine Ackley (Andrew), Jennifer Borland, Laura Moore and Amanda Moore, and one great niece, three great nephews and four great-great nephews.
