Margaret Terrell Underwood, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024. Born on November 2, 1935, Margaret dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally as a registered nurse at Research Medical Center and personally as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and community member.
Margaret was a devoted wife to Albert Joseph Underwood, whom she now joins in heaven. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. She was the proud and loving mother of five children: Teresa Cravy, Thomas Underwood, Timothy Underwood, Maria Giffin, and Jennifer Underwood. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Emily, Aubrey, Elly, Angelo, Solomon, Pierce, Sheila, and Arthur.
Margaret was known for her kindness, gentleness, compassion, and warm spirit. She lived a life rooted in her love for family, her deep faith, and her dedication to her work. She also had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel and nature. Margaret found joy in exploring new places and was particularly enchanted by waterfalls, which she often sought out in her travels. Her kindness touched the lives of many, not only through her nursing career but also through the lifelong friendships she nurtured and the deep bonds she shared with her family and community. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Margaret's memory to St. John Francis Regis Parish Church. Donations can be made online by visiting the St. Regis donation page.
