Marge Perry, 86, of Liberty, Missouri passed away December 7, 2025 at Avalon View Health & Wellness Center.
Majorie Esther Geist, daughter of Athur and Esther (Dutt) Geist, was born December 2, 1939 in Tolstoy, SD. She attended elementary school in Seneca and high school in Faulkton. She Married Vernon T. Perry, Jr. on December 7, 1962 at Gettysburg and the USAF transferred them to Kansas City in 1964. Marge worked for an insurance company there until she was employed by Amoco Oil Company in 1971, which took her to Des Moines, IA and Tulsa, OK before retiring in 2010. She moved to Liberty in 2011 to be near her children and grandchildren.
Marge loved being involved with church & community activities, music, reading, entertaining friends, and every minute of time spent with family. In younger days, she was a softball and basketball player, bowler, loved to roller skate, and (in her fifties) even did a ‘bungee jump’. She was a ‘speed demon’ on the road and once owned a VW bug she converted into a sporty Baja vehicle, with a license plate that read ‘BAJA-MA’. She made a host of treasured friends who saw her through the good times and the bad. Especially during her years in Tulsa, she entertained on a regular basis and very much enjoyed sharing her home with friends and family.
Survivors include her two sons: Thomas (Rachel) Perry of Lathrop, MO and Jason (Diana) Perry of Liberty, MO; grandchildren: Shawna & James Perry of Liberty, MO; great-grandsons Malachi Perry & Zion Smith of Liberty, MO and great-granddaughters Royal & Lynnix Smith of Liberty, MO; two sisters: Jane (John) Hoffert of Pierre, SD, and Deb (Leon) Etzkorn of Pierre, SD; nephews & nieces: Jeff (Melody) Hoffert of Lebanon, KS, Vicki (Bill) Fischer of Gettysburg, SD, Steve (Roxanne) Lesselyoung and David (Sharen) Lesselyoung, both of Sioux Falls, SD, Rob (Mandy Jo) Hall and Mandy Lou (Ben) DeSchepper both of Sioux Falls, SD; great-nieces/nephews, other extended family, and a multitude of treasured friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother (Esther) in 1983, her father (Art) in 1998, her sister (Carol) in 2012, and her step-mother (Ann) in 2015. Together with beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends she has moved on to life eternal with her heavenly Father. Marge hopes all will celebrate this blessing.
