It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Kay (Ray) Lewis, age 81. Marlene died November 23, 2024, at her home in Liberty, Missouri.
Marlene was born December 16, 1942, in Laurel, Montana to Don and Millie Ray. She graduated from Park County High School in 1961. On December 22, 1963, Marlene married her high school sweetheart, Taylor Malcolm Lewis, who preceded her in death in 2017. After moving to several locations, Marlene and Taylor settled in Springfield, Missouri where they raised their three children. Throughout their life, they traveled to many places and had grand adventures. Marlene will be remembered by all as a person who laughed easily, was kind and patient, and was a savvy card and cribbage player. Forever a bookkeeper, her records show high success rates in Wordle, Sudoku, and Spider Solitaire. Making memories with family and friends at the Lake of the Ozarks was always a priority for Marlene and Taylor. Marlene was a lifelong cheerleader for her Montana and Kansas City teams and for her children, who will always remember her as a hardworking and dedicated mother who was truly selfless and supportive in all of their endeavors.
Marlene is survived by her sister Delores Burns (Jim) and brother Randy Ray (Linda); her children, Tracee Pope (Rick), Timothy Lewis (Leigh), and Meredith Walsh (Joel); and her grandchildren, Nick Pope, Elsie Lewis, Maizie Lewis, Lanie Lewis, Toby Lewis, and Quinton Walsh. Marlene will be cremated and her ashes brought to Short Hill Cemetery in Park County, Montana. A celebration of her life is planned for 2025 in Livingston, Montana, and all are welcome to attend.
