Martha Jane Gregory, born on March 31, 1938, in Nevada City, California to Leonard and Blanche Bateman; she passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Growing up, Jane moved around often with her siblings, Fern and Jerry, and graduated high school in Stanley, Kansas. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as a seamstress, showcasing her remarkable skill in sewing and alterations. Her home featured a dedicated sewing room filled with an endless amount of patterns, showcasing her creative spirit. She instilled creativity in her children, teaching them to be hands on. She and her husband, Frank Gregory, who she was married to for 60 wonderful years, shared many adventures traveling around the country. They spent their winters in Texas and enjoyed RVing and camping, embracing the joys of nature throughout their lives. Jane was known for her gentle and shy personality, which complemented Frank's outgoing nature perfectly.
Jane proceeded in death by her son Russell Gregory and parents Leonard and Blanche Bateman.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Ed) Maurin, son Brian Gregory, grandson Brandon, and two great-granddaughters Shea and Kimi. Martha will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held for Jane at Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty, Missouri, on October 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
