Born on February 22, 1938, Mary Lou’s journey was one marked by resilience, generosity, and the kind of warmth that leaves an indelible mark on every heart she touched.

Mary Lou began her professional life at the Gully Insurance Agency in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she demonstrated not only diligence but also a commitment to helping others feel secure and cared for. In 1972, she embraced a new chapter, relocating to Kansas City, Missouri, a move that would shape the rest of her days. Embracing challenges with her characteristic enthusiasm, Mary Lou went on to become the Program Director of Gladstone Bowl after 1976, where her leadership and neighborly charm made her a fixture in the community.

Her career, while impressive, was simply one facet of her vibrant spirit. Mary Lou was known throughout her circles for her infectious smile—a welcome that could brighten even the dreariest day and make every gathering feel like a homecoming. She poured her love into her talents: she was great at making cookies that elicited delight. Time spent on the lake fishing or on the softball diamond reminded all that Mary Lou brimmed with energy and a zest for life.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents: Jerry and Ola Wilkins; her first husband, Ron Markey; her second husband: Ron McCoy; and her brother: Jerry (Laquita) Wilkins.

Mary Lou is survived by her children: Rhonda (Ted) Manichia, and Lisa (Michael) Scudiero; grandchildren: Nicholas, Sarah, Michael; great grandchildren: Aviana, Brielle, and Teddy; as well as her nephew: Marcus Wilkins.
