Mary Nichols

Mary Frances Nichols, age 71, passed away peacefully and rejoined her beloved husband, Elmer, on Friday, August 15, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Allen and Eleanor Riddle.

Mary is survived by her son, Matt (Robin) Nichols, her daughter, Angie Cox, her brother, Mike Riddle, and three cherished grandchildren: Eleanor, Olivia, and Genevieve. She is also remembered fondly by extended family and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Elmer.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, her devotion to family, and her passion for life. She found joy in cheering on the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs, and she loved listening to the music of The Rolling Stones. Mary’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for those around her left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, located at 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, Missouri, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Elmer.

Mary will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
