Maxann Sarahetta Mary Danina Bass was born on July 31, 1973, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ann Steele and Jerry M. Bass. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ann Steele. 

Maxann was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a beautiful smile, and a generous nature that made others feel welcomed and cared for. She found joy in spending time with family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, and love. 

Education and Career: Maxann received her high school diploma from East High School in 1991. She continued her education at Park University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Never one to stop learning, she later pursued her passion for barbering and earned her Missouri Barber License. 

As a talented barber, Maxann spent several years cutting hair at the shop of her longtime friend, Michelle Lora, where she built lasting relationships with clients who appreciated not only her skills but also her warm personality and genuine care for others. 

Later, Maxann hung up her clippers and began a new chapter with the United States Postal Service, where she faithfully served as a mail carrier for the last 14 years. She took great pride in her work and was respected by both her coworkers and the community she served. During her career with the Postal Service, she also served as a Union Steward, advocating for and supporting her fellow employees with fairness, integrity, and compassion. 

A woman of faith, Maxann accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a yearly age and served as a missionary at Saint Paul Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ. Later, she replanted her roots and became a devoted member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided her through both joyful and difficult seasons. She found comfort in prayer, strength in God’s Word, and encouragement through fellowship with her church family. 

Maxann and Larry L. Love were brought together by their faith and they married on February 14, 2015. 

Throughout her life, Maxann demonstrated resilience and grace, facing her life’s challenges with courage while always offering encouragement to those around her. Her legacy is one of love, faith, hard work, and unwavering devotion to the people she held dear.

Her earthly journey came to an end peacefully in her sleep the morning of June 9, 2026. Maxann’s impact will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be treasured, and her spirit will remain a source of comfort and inspiration. 

Maxann leaves behind her father Jerry M. Bass Sr., her husband Larry L. Love, her beloved sons, Donte’ Mickelsen (Ciara), Damien Murphy (Anyssa Washington), D’Angelo Maxwell Person, and D.J. Person; her cherished granddaughters, Naomi, Maliah, Armani, and Camille. She also leaves behind her siblings Jerry M. Bass Jr., Jeremy Bass, Melissa Bass, Christopher Bass along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. 

May she rest in the eternal peace and presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Service are planned for 11 AM on  Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 10:30 AM. Guests are invited to remain for the repast at the church following the service. 

Honoring Maxann's faith, memorial contributions may be made to the church in her memory.
