Michael William Hassel, a man whose life was marked by dedication, humor, and a passionate pursuit of his interests, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at Azria Health Olathe in Olathe, Kansas. Born on December 23, 1947, in Independence, Missouri, Michael’s journey through life was one enriched by service, family, and the simple joys that brought him lasting happiness.

Michael proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating a commitment to his country that was a foundation of his character. Upon completing his military service, he pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, building the groundwork for a successful professional career. He worked with dedication for The United States Postal Service before advancing to a managerial role at Westlake Hardware, where he was respected for his leadership and hardworking nature.

Beyond his career, Michael was a man who found joy in the smaller things. He carried a great sense of humor that lightened the hearts of those around him, always ready to share a laugh or a witty remark. His love for music was evident in his fondness for singing, a pastime that brought him comfort and expression.
