Mike Hawkins

Michael (Mike) Dorn Hawkins entered this world on April 28, 1946. He left this earth on March 13, 2026.

Mike was the son to Roy and Betty (Thompson) Hawkins. Raised in Muskogee, OK with seven siblings. Charles, Ruth, Polly, Sue, Cathy, Joyce, and Tommy.

Mike left Muskogee to move to Kansas City, MO in the 60’s. Mike was known for his hard work. He would work from sun-up to sundown if he could. He always worked in construction and eventually owned and operated Hawkins Trucking.

He raised six children Michelle, Tony, John, Jerry, Peggy, and William. He had a seventh child, Michael Dorn Hawkins II who was laid to rest as an infant. He loved his children; he worked hard to provide for them.

He loved being a grandpa more. He had fifteen grandchildren. Megan, Justin, Kesley, Brittany, Dorian, Sydney, Jerry, Cody, Robert, Shyla, Josie, Jackson, Carson, Ava, and Brooklyn.

After Mike retired a few years ago, he would tell you his greatest blessing would be his ten great grandchildren Bently, Carter, Ella (Winnie), Zane, Kylie, Payton, Paisley, Madalyn, Cassidy, and Aurora. He learned to slow down and treasure life.

Mike is proceeded in death by his parents Roy and Betty, siblings Ruth, Polly, Charles, and Sue. His two sons John and Michael Dorn.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 11am until time of service at 12pm. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mikes only request is that everyone wear their favorite pair of blue jeans. If you desire memorial contributions may be made to the family.
