Mildred Jean "Jeanie" Kilgore who was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away just before noon on December 16, 2025 in Independence, Missouri. She lost her battle with cancer and other health complications just 6 months and one day after her 70th birthday.
She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 15th 1955, to Letha Mae Campbell- Kilgore and Denver Howard Kilgore. She was the third of four children.
Jeanie started as a licensed beautician and hairdresser, later becoming a cake decorator and baker up until she passed. She loved making cakes for the people she cared for and their big life events. She loved her pets, her plants, and her friends, all of which she collected many. She enjoyed nature and getting lost in the beauty of the tucked away, quiet places. Her favorite place being Arkansas. Anyone who spent much time talking with her knew that to be true.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her eldest brother Jim, her youngest brother Benjamin, nephews Lance and Jamie, and several friends.
She is survived by her sons Denver Hickman and Christopher Mills of Independence, Missouri, her sister Kathy Roberts and her husband Jerry Roberts of Windsor, Missouri, Grand children Jordan, Brianna, and Mackenzie Hickman, her great granddaughter Dixie Hickman, a niece, her nephews Shawn Roberts and Nathan Kilgore, her stepson Donald and Danny Jo Hickman, and many other friends and bonus family. She is also survived by her four cats and Jasper her beloved dog.
Visitation is Monday December 29th 2025 at 1:00 p.m. and will be followed by the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. with internment to follow. Held at Park lawn funeral homes. Located, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City Mo. 64138.
