Patricia "Pat" Piranio
Patricia "Pat" Piranio, beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026. Born in 1936 to Marie and Henry McHale, Pat lived a life rich in love, laughter, service, and compassion.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Henry McHale; her brother, Hank McHale; and her beloved Aunt Betty Stoerman, all of whom she loved dearly and carried in her heart throughout her life.
Pat attended Loretto Academy in Kansas City, Missouri, where she formed lifelong values of faith, service, and friendship. She later married Joseph Piranio, and together they were blessed with five children. Though their marriage ended in divorce, they shared the gift of a family that remained the center of Pat's life.
Pat is survived by her five children: her eldest son, Steve Piranio and his wife Sharon; her daughters, Michelle Piranio, Mary Beth Piranio, and Lisa Beal and her husband Ken Beal Jr.; and her son, Joe Piranio.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Lucreitia, Lashanda (Fred Ingold), Gracie, Seth, and Keegan. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and took great pride in watching her family grow through the generations. Pat was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Conner and Colin, children of Lucreitia, and Kyra and Jocelyn, children of Lashanda. Many nieces and nephews remember Pat as a fun and caring aunt.
For twenty years, Pat faithfully served the Catholic Chancery's Pastoral Life and Ministry Center as an administrative assistant. She found great purpose in her work and developed lasting friendships through her years of service.
Pat will be remembered for her remarkable sense of humor, which could brighten any room and keep her family laughing even during difficult times. She was known for sharing words of wisdom, encouragement, and practical advice that those who loved her will carry with them forever.
An avid reader, Pat enjoyed books from every genre and was always ready to discuss her latest favorite novel. She also loved true crime documentaries, listening to music, and spending quiet moments with her beloved cats. Her affection for animals began in childhood when each Easter she received a duck affectionately named "Ducky Daddles," which the family would later take to Loose Park to release, creating memories she treasured throughout her life.
Pat expressed her love most often through food. Nothing made her happier than preparing meals for family and friends. Her Italian cookies, homemade apple pie, and spaghetti were family favorites that brought everyone together around the table. She never cooked for just a few; she cooked for everyone, ensuring there was always enough to share. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and love.
Above all, Pat was devoted to her family. She celebrated their accomplishments, comforted them through hardships, and loved each of them unconditionally. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the countless memories she created.
Please join us as we gather to celebrate Pat's life. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Chapel, located at 1600 Rt. 291 Hwy., Liberty, MO 64068. A celebration of life will follow immediately after at 6:00 pm.
Pat's family finds comfort in knowing that her love, laughter, wisdom, and generous spirit will remain with them always.
