Obituary

Paula (LaMar) Flint, 80 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on August 16. She left behind a family that has been greatly influenced by her love, faith, and devotion.

Paula was married to her first and only love, Tim Flint, for 62 years. The two of them established a home based on faith, family, and love for one another. To Paula, being a wife and a mother was one of the greatest sources of joy. When her children were small, she gave her full attention to their home and family, making sure that each of them knew they were loved and known.

Paula had a particular way of making the people nearby feel loved and seen. Whether it was by having a meal together at the table, a sweet card in the mail, a thoughtful gesture, specially made flower arrangements, or just taking the time to listen and show care, she showed her love in the ordinary moments of life.

Her family formed the heart of her life. She was a devoted mother to Tim Flint, Jr.; to Cammie Cunningham and her husband Gary; to Matthew Flint and his wife Angie; to Corrie Metz and her husband Ben; and to Micah Flint and his wife Jennifer. She was affectionately called “Nana” by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom gave her great happiness. She is also survived by her little sister, Cheri Kuklenski.

As her children grew older, Paula served others by working as a preschool teacher and a house cleaner. These occupations were natural testaments to her character in serving and helping to bring a sense of warmth to other people's lives.

Paula also possessed a beautiful and creative spirit. She enjoyed working with flowers and made floral arrangements for her family and weddings of her close friends. Just as she did with flowers, she expressed her love by taking something simple and made it beautiful for someone she cared about.

Music was a constant element in Paula's life. She started singing in church choirs as a child, and her beautiful voice carried songs for the Lord throughout her life. Her faith was not merely one that she declared; it was incorporated into the way she lived. She loved the Lord and aimed at serving Him sincerely through her family, in the church, and by loving others.

Paula’s love for others shined through her hospitality. She enjoyed opening her home and bringing together her family and friends for fellowship, laughter, and stories. Her table was always specifically set to make each person feel loved and special. The numerous ways in which she looked after others will be treasured in our hearts for generations to come.

Her greatest legacy will be remembered by the people she loved deeply.

Celebration of life services will be Sunday, September 6, at 6 PM at Red Bridge Baptist Church, 4901 E Red Bridge Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137
