Peggy Ann (Pitts) Shull, Kansas City, Mo., passed away on April 1, 2023. Peggy was born on May 16, 1946, in Urbana, Mo., the second of four daughters of Kenneith Neville Pitts and Virgia Margaret (Green) Pitts.

Peggy graduated as a proud member of the 1964 class at Skyline High School, where she enjoyed returning almost annually for reunions. In 1982, Peggy earned an associate degree in arts from Maple Woods Community College and graduated magna cum laude in accountancy from William Jewell College in 1984.

Peggy was united in marriage to Noel J Shull in Louisburg, Mo, on January 27, 1964, and this union was blessed with two sons. Peggy and Noel were married over 59 years.

Peggy was baptized at First Baptist Church, Buffalo, Mo. in 1964. She was an active church member all her life including memberships at the First Baptist Church in Louisburg, Mo., Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia, Mo., and Second Baptist Church in Liberty, Mo. At the time of her death, she was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, Mo.

Peggy remembered fondly growing up in Urbana, including her first job at The Nemo Cafe, where she learned to cook roast beef and waited on tables for 50 cents an hour plus tips. After saving her money all summer she bought a mouton coat in Springfield. Her family and others were blessed by this experience as throughout her life, Peggy prepared countless special dinners, which often included her delicious brisket, homemade rolls, and homemade noodles.

While Noel completed his degree at the University of Missouri, Peggy worked as a bookkeeper and a teller at Columbia National Bank. After they moved to Liberty in 1970, Peggy worked at the Federal Reserve Bank until continuing her education. During the years between 1988 until 1994, Peggy was honored to serve the citizens of Clay County as Circuit Court Clerk and Presiding Commissioner. From 1994 until her retirement, Peggy took great joy in assisting families find their homes as a REALTOR and Broker-Salesperson. No matter what else she was doing, Peggy was always Noel’s greatest supporter.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband Noel J Shull of Kansas City, Mo. Three sisters: Kay Pitts Blake Martin (Erv) of Buffalo, Mo., Gloria Pitts McIntire Henry (Bill) of Walnut Grove, Mo., and Becky Reynolds (Jim) of Urbana, Mo. Two sons: Anthony Von “Tony” Shull (Heather) of Kingwood, Tx, and Charles Douglas “Doug” Shull of Columbia, Mo. Six grandchildren: Larkin Elizabeth Shull Rau (Matt) of Arvada, Co., Shelby Ann Shull of Woodlands, Tx., Anthony Reed Shull “TJ” of Kingwood, Tx., Anna Beatrice Shull of Atlanta, Ga., Briget Elizabeth Shull of Kingwood, Tx., and Molly Noelle Shull of Columbia, Mo.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Peggy’s life at 3:00 pm, on Saturday April 8, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 North State Route 291, Liberty, Mo. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church 1600 North State Route 291, Liberty, Mo. 64068. Flowers may be sent directly to the church.  Cards for the family may be sent to Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 North State Route 291, Liberty, Mo. 64068.
