Perry Joe Mynatt, 87, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 3, 1939, in Clay County, Missouri, he was the son of Senator Kay and Thelma Mae (Forshey) Mynatt. As a young man, Perry’s family moved to Lathrop. It was there that he met the absolute love of his life, Carolyn Sue Langford. The two were wed on October 10, 1960, in Benton County, AR, beginning a beautiful journey of shared love and devotion that spanned 65 wonderful years.
Perry and Sue made their home in Kansas City North, where they blessed the world with two children, Renee and Terry, and raised their granddaughter, Kasey. To support his family, Perry worked hard as a truck driver for several waste management companies in the Kansas City area. Perry found great pleasure in attending local auctions, estate sales, draft horse pulls, and tractor pulls. He always enjoyed stopping by Freddie’s for his favorite treat: a classic burger and fries with a shake whenever he had the opportunity.
Perry was a profoundly kind man who lived life with an open heart. He was always extending a helping hand to others down on their luck. His legacy is defined by those quiet, nameless acts of kindness and love that touched so many lives.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Sue Mynatt; his children, Terry Mynatt, and his wife Maryanne, and Renee Mynatt- Woolridge and her husband, Edward; his sister, Nellie Swisse; and his brother, Richard “Doc” Mynatt and his wife, Mary Ellen; His grandchildren, Kasey Mynatt-Stinnett and her husband, Adam, Hayley Auxier and her husband, Austin, and Hannah Mynatt and her partner, Noah Hunter; Sherie Hodges and Gary Hodges, and Kerri Delema; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 Rt 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068. The funeral service will start at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Perry will be laid to rest in the Lathrop City Cemetery, Lathrop, Missouri.
