Rudy was born on November 8, 1929 in Munich, Germany. He moved to Canada in 1958 at the age of 29 and then to the United States in 1961. He earned U.S citizenship in 1980, a very proud moment in his life. Roland Mayer, owner of Best Tool and Manufacturing Inc, sponsored Rudy to come to the US. He worked at Best Tool for more than 30 years as a Master Craftsman Tool & Die Maker (Handwerksmeister), retiring at age 69.

Rudy was married to Suzanne (Sole Nelson) for 42 happy years. His mother was Therese Elizabeth Pichlmeier. Rudy had six half-siblings, and is survived by the oldest, Adolfine Dorner (B.C., Canada). He was preceded in death by Karl Madl Jr., Georg Madl, Ingeborg Madl, Joseph Madl, and Therese Madl. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Rudy did not have biological children but loved his step children Jason Nelson and Cynthia (Nelson) Heck, husband James, as if they were. Rudy had one grandson (Justin Nelson) and a great grandson (Isaiah Nelson) who brought him much joy.

Rudy completed traditional education in Munich, Germany and continued with a Tool & Die Making apprenticeship in Munich from age 14-19. Following graduation, he worked for Siemens Halske for nine years and earned his Master Craftsman Tool & Die certification at age 29.

Rudy was a member of Northland Cathedral and accepted the Lord as his savior December 17, 1998 (69 yrs old) at River of Life Church Christmas Pageant. His hobbies were spending time with his family, playing games, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and reading. Rudy was a quiet, faithful man, who treasured his family.

Rudy requested a simple graveside service for family and friends. The service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 13, at Mount Washington Cemetery (enter Truman Road gate at 9160 East Truman Road, Independence, MO 64052).

Rudy adored children and preferred a donation in his memory to All God’s Children KC (www.allgodschildrenkc.com) in lieu of flowers.
