Raymond Leon Sanders

Raymond "ray" Leon Sanders, born on May 18, 1941, in Aurora, Missouri to Albert and Wilma Sanders, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri. He grew up in Gladstone, Missouri. Ray grew up in Marionville, Missouri. At the young age of 17, Ray joined the Army, dedicating twenty years of service to his country and retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class.

After his military service, Ray earned a Master's Degree in education. He spent 24 years as an educator in the Kansas City school district.

Ray is survived by his sons Benoit Sanders (Monica, deceased), Gregoire Sanders and Matthieu Sanders (Ashley); grandchildren Shane, Joshua, Breah, Mattilyn and Nicholas.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife Paulette Lucienne Denise (Clodot) Sanders, sister Kathryn Jane Sanders, and parents Albert and Wilma Sanders.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 12:30 PM.
