Rhodanne Marie Schiller, 85 died peacefully at home on July 2, 2026. Rhodanne was born on August 14, 1940, in Kansas City, MO to William Wilder Haskins and Grace Alena Haskins. Rhodanne graduated from Reseda High School in 1957. Later graduating from University of Kansas, with a master’s degree in early childhood education. Rhodanne married James Ray Schiller in February 1957. They had 3 children, Michael, Linda and Walter. Her children remember her as caring, compassionate, gentle, and very determined.

Rhodanne was generous dedicated and skilled teacher/instructor and spent many years teaching children, later teaching others who were responsible for teaching children through her consulting. Rhodanne worked for many years providing Training and Technical assistance to Head Start agencies throughout Region 7, (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska). Rhodanne was recognized multiple times during her career as well as after her retirement at age 71. Above all Rhodanne was a dedicated wife and mom who loved nothing more than hosting meals for family and friends. Rhodanne was a committed Christian and practiced her faith daily and lived it out in all she did. Rhodanne was an active member at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and volunteered with the early childhood ministry, children’s Sunday school, and the benevolence ministry.

Rhodanne was preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace Haskins of California, her sister, Ruth Stafford of Kansas City, Missouri, brother WR (Bud) Haskins, of Whitter, California, Brother Butler James Haskins of California.

Rhodanne is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Ray Schiller of Liberty, son Michael Schiller and his wife, Karen Evans-Schiller, of Liberty, daughter, Linda Herr and her husband Kip Herr of Kansas City, and son, Walter Schiller, along with 9 grandchildren/step grandchildren, their spouses, and 10 great grandchildren/ step great grandchildren Additionally, there are many nieces and nephews

The visitation begins 10:00am, Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Chapel, 1600 Rte 291, Liberty, MO 64068, with the memorial service at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rhodanne’s life.
