Ricky G Baker

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ricky G Baker, who passed away on July 21, 2026 at the age of 69 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Rick was born on January 21, 1957 in Independence, Missouri to Robert and Mary Lou Baker. He graduated from Liberty High School and Central Missouri State University, earning a degree in Drafting. Before retirement, he spent many years working as a diesel mechanic and later enjoyed careers with the Missouri Department of Conservation and in home construction. After retiring, he dedicated his time to the things he loved most: fishing, racing, and being a proud grandfather, creating lasting memories with his family and friends.

Rick was known for being able to fix almost anything, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need, and creating delicious meals without ever needing a recipe. Above all, he deeply loved his family. He treasured fishing trips at the lake with his buddies and grandsons, attending sprint car races every August with his brother and friends, and gathering for family dinner nights with his daughters, sons-in-laws, and grandchildren. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Mose) Baker, his twin daughters, Amanda (Samuel) Timmer and Pamela (Thomas) Moore, his four grandchildren, Sean Timmer, Ethan Moore, Emma Moore and Owen Timmer, his Father, Robert Baker, his brothers, David (Lorrie) Baker, Danny (Misse) Baker and Rocky (Chanda) Baker, and many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Baker and grand-daughter, Evelyn Timmer.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 12:00pm to 1:30pm, concluding with a moment of reflection at First Presbyterian Church of Liberty at 138 N Main St. Liberty, MO. Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm at a family residence. The Celebration of Life will be casual. Guests are encouraged to wear fishing or racing attire in honor of Rick. Memorial contributions in honor of Rick, may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation and sent in care of Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. State Route 291, Liberty, MO 64068.
