            Robert Glenn Evans, 99, Lee’s Summit, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024.  

He was born in Liberty, Missouri, and lived there most of his life.  He graduated from Liberty High School in 1942.   He was an Eagle Scout and member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.  He enlisted in the military at age 19 and proudly until 1945 in the Army Air Force, as First Sergeant in England and France.  After the war, he served 10 years in the Air Force Reserve achieving the rank of First Lieutenant.  He graduated from William Jewell College in 1948, where he met the love of his life, Lorraine, who was his wife for 68 years.  He worked in the insurance industry for over 50 years, including many years of owning his own underwriting agency.  He had been a member of Second Baptist Church, Liberty, for 65 years, serving in many capacities, including deacon and finance chair.  He also served as president on the Board of Baptist Memorial Hospital, Kansas City.

He was living at Wilshire at Lakewood, Lee’s Summit, at the time of his death.   The family appreciates the support from the Wilshire staff who knew and loved him, and especially the staff at One Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

He was preceded in death by his parents J. Fred Evans and Irene Thompson Evans; and his wife Lorraine Kasper Evans who died on September 4, 2015. He is survived by daughter Gayle Jones (Lowell), Blue Springs, and three granddaughters he adored: Aimee Steele (Brian) Blue Springs, Kailey Wilson (Jordan), Blue Springs, and Shelby Jones (Taylor Crow), Independence, and five grandchildren: Tucker, Emerie, Eeva, Esli and Hadley.  

            Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Liberty, with graveside services to follow at 11:30 am at Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to One Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Kansas City, Missouri.
