Obituary

Robert Milton Sego entered his heavenly home on April 20, 2026, after a fall and battle with primary progressive aphasia. He was a true disciple of Christ, a faithful, loving husband and father, and a dear friend to many. He led by example and was thoughtful and wise in his counsel.

Bob, as he was known to family and friends, was born to Ernest Arnell and Lyna May (White) Sego in Amarillo, TX, on September 14, 1943. He was raised in Clovis, NM. Bob attended Brigham Young University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in English, and a Spanish minor. More importantly, BYU is where he met the love of his life, Nora Ann Call.

Bob served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile. He loved his Savior and he loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After his return, Bob and Nora were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. At his passing, they had been married for 59 years.

Bob entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and attended Office Candidate School. Upon his discharge, Bob and Nora moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he completed a MBA at the University of New Mexico. Bob worked as an analyst for numerous businesses and the State of New Mexico. Following his retirement, Bob and Nora served a mission in Quito, Ecuador.

Bob could regularly be found working out at the gym or tracking the weather. He sang in church and community choirs and wrote poetry, children’s stories, and novels which he shared with his family. He maintained a beautiful yard, free of dandelions, and was generous with his time serving others.

Bob’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life were his family. He and Nora were blessed with five children: Stephanie Krueger (Bill), Laura Roberts (Art), Katherine Culpepper (Earl), Mary Atkin (Richard), and Mitchell Sego (Natalie). Bob was the proud Grandpa and “Potts” to 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bob will be remembered by his family in a private farewell in Kansas City, MO, and will be buried in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bob’s honor to your favorite charity.
