Robert Milton
Sego
July 14, 1943 – April 20, 2026
Robert Milton Sego entered his heavenly home on April 20, 2026. He was 82 years old. Bob, as he was known to family and friends, was born to Ernest Arnell and Lyna May Sego in Amarillo, TX, on September 14, 1943. He was raised in Clovis, NM. Bob attended Brigham Young University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in English, and a minor in Spanish. More importantly, BYU is where he met the love of his life, Nora Ann Call.
Bob served a two and a half year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile. He loved his Savior and he loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of Chile. After his return, Bob and Nora were married on December 15, 1966, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. At his passing, they had been married for 59 years.
Bob entered the U.S. Army in 1968 during the Vietnam War and attended Office Candidate School. He served dutifully for three years. Upon his discharge, Bob and Nora moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he completed a MBA at the University of New Mexico. Bob worked as an analyst for numerous businesses and the State of New Mexico.
Bob was a regular at the gym, and enjoyed skiing, hiking, reading and listening to music. He had a beautiful singing voice and was often heard plucking out tunes on the piano and writing music. Bob was the author of poetry, children’s stories, and novels which he shared with his family. He maintained a beautiful yard, free from dandelions. He was generous with his time in serving others. Following his retirement, Bob and Nora served an 18 month mission in Quito, Ecuador.
Bob’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life were his family. He and Nora were blessed with five children: Stephanie Krueger (Bill), Laura Roberts (Art), Katherine Culpepper (Earl), Mary Atkin (Richard), and Mitchell Sego (Natalie). Bob was the proud Grandpa and “Potts” to 18 grandchildren.
Bob will be remembered by his family in a private farewell in Kansas City, MO, and will be buried in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bob’s honor to your favorite charity.
