Roberta Mae Mills

        Roberta Mae Mills, 89, of Kansas City North, passed away March 29, 2023. Roberta was born January 16, 1934, in Kansas City, MO. She retired from the U.S. Census Bureau on May 2, 1997, after 17 years. Roberta attended church regularly and was very involved in the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City as a Sunday school teacher, held the position of head of the kitchen for many years serving many meals for church events and involved in many of the charity fund raisers.

        Roberta will be remembered for her ability to always put other people first and always be there from beginning to end when someone was in need. She loved get-togethers with her family and friends and hosted many parties and back yard picnics over the years. She loved to laugh, act silly and was always in the center of everything. Her grandkids/great grandkids were her world, and she gave them lots of memories to look back on.

        Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Roy of 63 years. She leaves behind her children, Cathy Stambaugh (Malcolm), Karen Atherton (Larry) and Rick Mills (Kerry); seven grandchildren and their spouses, 14 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.

        Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, April 5th, at the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City, 2205 Iron Street, NKC, MO 64116. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm, in Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty, MO. Memorials are suggested to Children's Mercy Hospital. Arrangements: Park Lawn Northland Chapel (816) 781-8228
