Nora D. Roberts

Nora Dee Roberts was born May 27, 1922 in Wooldridge, Tennessee and died on June 28, 2022. She was 100 years old. Nora was the daughter of John L. Taylor and Sallie (Gilreath) Taylor. She was one of eleven children. Nora graduated from Cumberland College, now part of University of the Cumberland, in 1942. She taught school for two years in McCreary County, Kentucky. Nora was an employee of the US Army Corps of Engineers in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for several years during WWII. She came to Kansas City in 1950. Nora was later an employee of the IRS in Kansas City for 16 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grandview, Missouri for more than 60 years. For recreation, she enjoyed bowling and Bingo.

Nora was preceded in death by her husband Estill H. Roberts and her son Brent A. Roberts. She is survived by two sons: James E. Roberts of Independence, Missouri; and John D. Roberts of Raytown, Missouri; her daughter Denise Johnston and her husband David Johnston of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter in lawn Cheryl Roberts of Warsaw, Missouri; four grandchildren: Bryan Roberts, Craig Roberts, Aimee Mills and her husband David Mills, and Patricia Funk and her husband Chauncey Funk; as well as several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9AM, with services to follow at 10AM, Friday, July 1 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
