Roger Alan Bethel

November 2, 1964 — September 11, 2023

On September 11, 2023, Roger Alan Bethel of Liberty, MO, sadly passed away with family by his side. He died at Liberty Hospital following a lengthy illness. Roger will forever be a beloved husband, father, son, and brother.

Born in Alton, Illinois, on November 2, 1964, to his parents Robert Warren Bethel and Mildred Lenora (Boyd) Bethel, Roger grew up the youngest of three sons.  He is now reunited with his father.

Roger graduated from Roxana High School, Roxana, Illinois, in 1983.  During his junior year in 1982, Roger met his soulmate and future wife, Ann Marie Gordon.  After dating for six years, they excitedly married on March 19, 1988.  While together, Roger and Ann traveled extensively, living life to the fullest, before ultimately deciding to start their next adventure by bringing their two children, Mark and Nicole, into the world.

In 1988, Roger began his career on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, MO. In 2003, he became an industrial mechanic, then transferred to Claycomo, MO in 2006 when the Hazelwood plant closed. Roger retired in 2021 following 33 years at Ford.

During his life, Roger took on a few hobbies, including his knack for the guitar, scuba diving, and making crazy drawings.  He made it clear that his favorite thing to do was travel with his family. Roger will always be loved and held in our hearts.

His living family includes his wife, Ann; children, Mark and Nicole Bethel; mother, Lenora Bethel; brothers, Warren (Cindy) Bethel and Don (Ellen) Bethel and their children Bryan and Deborah; as well as other family and many friends.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.  You may share a message with the family or sign an online guest book via  Arrangements: Park Lawn Northland Chapel (816) 781-8228.
