RONALD BUZICK, JR.

 

Ronald Buzick, Jr. (USAF SMSG Ret), 82, passed away peacefully at The Wellington in Liberty on April 4, 2024.  

Ron was born August 16, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio, the eldest of two children of Ronald and Margaret (Spung) Buzick.  Following graduation from North Kansas City High School, Ron began his 37 years of service in the US Air Force.  While serving in the Philippines, Ron met his future wife, Teofila “Fay” Igot, and they were married on September 2, 1961.  They were blessed with four children, Karen, Jeff, Debbie, and Priscilla.  

Upon Ron’s discharge from active duty in 1969, Ron and Fay and their young family moved to the Kansas City area.  He worked for General Services Administration and at Richards Gebaur Air Base while serving in the Air Force Reserves.  He received his retirement discharge as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1997.  After military retirement, Ron worked as an Erosion Control Inspector for EarthScapes ofLiberty.

Ron was an avid golfer, bowler, enjoyed playing softball on championship teams well into his 70’s, and attending his grandchildren’s various activities. He loved professionalbaseball and watching old western movies.  

Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Fay.  Survivors include his children, Karen Imhoff (John); Jeff Buzick (fiancé Cindy), Debbie Draney (Pat); and Priscilla Mulac (Neil deceased); grandchildren, Wesley Buzick (fiancé Kirstin), Abbey Imhoff, Paige Imhoff, Lucas Mulac (Alayna), Anna Ragland (Zane), Matthew Mulac, Lauren Draney; great granddaughter, Harper Buzick; his sister, Linda Bendure; as well as other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, April 12, and funeral services 10:00 am Saturday, April 13, all at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Burial with military honors at Glenridge Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of Ron’s favorite causes: American Legion Post 95 in Liberty, The Wellington Senior Living, or to Ascend Hospice.
