Ronald “Ron” E. Hartman, 71, of Cameron Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2026. Ron was born on October 23, 1954, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, to Beverly and Forrest Hartman. From an early age, Ron learned the importance of hard work, loyalty, and taking care of the people you love — lessons he carried with him throughout his entire life.

After school, Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. That same dedication and determination followed him into everything he did. In 1975, Ron married Cathy in Georgia, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of memories. Together, they raised two sons, Michael and Christopher, who were among his greatest accomplishments and sources of pride.

Ron loved being a dad and took every opportunity to teach his boys the things that mattered most: how to work hard, how to provide for your family, how to stand by the people you love, and, of course, how to properly enjoy a good day outdoors. He shared his love of hunting with his sons and was proud to eventually experience one of his dreams — riding motorcycles alongside both of them. Many miles, stories, and adventures were shared on those bikes, including unforgettable motorcycle trips that they’ll carry with them forever.

A man of many talents, Ron spent his early career as a bricklayer before becoming a truck driver until his retirement. No matter the job, he brought the same determination and pride that defined him. He believed in doing things the right way and never backed down from hard work.

Ron had a heart bigger than most and would do anything he could for his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or show up when someone needed him. He also never missed an opportunity to give the people he loved a little grief — because, according to Ron, if he was teasing you, it meant you were important to him. His jokes, stubborn streak, and playful troublemaking will be missed almost as much as his big heart.

Ron had a passion for classic cars and loved spending time tinkering with his own vehicles or attending car shows whenever he could. He appreciated the craftsmanship, the stories behind them, and probably enjoyed talking about them just as much as looking at them.

But above everything else, Ron’s greatest joy was being “Grandpa.” He adored his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and they brought out a special side of him. They were able to get away with things their dads never would have — a fact Ron was very proud of and the boys were probably still trying to negotiate. His love for them was endless, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever.

Ron was an active and faithful member of Maple Wood Worship Center in Cameron, where he found fellowship and community.

Ron leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to family. Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, lessons, and the love he gave so freely will continue through the generations he helped shape.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Beverly & Forrest, his son Michael Hartman, and his grandson Brandon Hartman.

Ron is survived by his wife Cathy; son, Chris Hartman and wife (Jessica), Michael's wife (Connie); siblings, Rodney, Diane, & Randy; 6 Grandchildren, Payge, Jonathan, Eva, Emma, Matthew, & Ella; 2 Great Grand Children, Ameliah & Adeleine.

Visitation will be held at Park Lawn Northland Chapel 1640 N 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068 on Friday, July 24, 2026, 9:00-10:00am with Funeral Service Following at 10:00 am. Burial will be at 12 noon at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
