Rosie M. Sales, of Liberty, Missouri, a cherished matriarch and beloved friend, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 2, 1939, Rosie was a woman of deep faith whose love for her family shaped every chapter of her life.
Rosie grew up on a farm in Jamestown, Missouri. As a young woman, she moved to Liberty with her sister Joan and close friend—later sister-in-law—MaryAnn. Together, they worked, built new lives, and met the men they would one day marry. Rosie and Wayne married on December 5, 1959 and later welcomed two children, David and then Debbie. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles—mother, wife, realtor—and found great fulfillment in raising her family and creating a warm, loving home. She remained a proud resident of Liberty for the rest of her life.
Rosie had a remarkable gift for staying connected with the people she loved. She treasured long conversations with family and friends and kept meaningful traditions alive—calling each family member on their birthday to sing “Happy Birthday,” sharing photos of her great-grandchildren, and gathering once a month with her sisters-in-law for a girls’ luncheon. These simple rituals became treasured moments that reflected her thoughtfulness and her devotion to celebrating life’s joys.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Theresia Tuttle; her husband, Wayne Sales; and her brothers, Gene and Dorsey Tuttle.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, David (Sue) Sales and Debbie Sales; her grandchildren, Brandon (Karly) Sales and Amanda (Dustin) Kunze; her great-grandchildren, Claire Rose and Waylon Wayne; her sister, Joan Nowell; and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
