Sandra K. Morey, age 84, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 2, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 15, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas, Sandra was the daughter of E.G. and Gladys McEntire. She was also a beloved sister to John McEntire and his wife, Loretta.
Sandra was the devoted wife of the love of her life, Arthur P. Morey, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family and were blessed with four daughters: Cheryl Trotter and her husband Daniel, Kathleen Morey, Carrie Forsberg and her husband Niklas, and Kimberly Morey, who preceded her in death at birth.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jacob Trotter, Astrid Forsberg, and Erik Forsberg, each of whom brought her great joy.
Sandra enjoyed traveling and cherished time spent with family and friends. She especially loved being at Lake Lotawana, where many of her happiest memories were made. A devout Catholic, her faith guided her life with quiet strength and compassion.
She loved hunting for bargains, antiquing, and decorating, taking pride in turning her finds into something special. When her daughters were younger, Sandra was a devoted Camp Fire Leader, generously giving her time, energy, and heart to guiding and supporting young girls. Sandra and Arthur also devoted more than 50 years to working with the Golden Gloves Organization, where their dedication and service touched countless lives.
Sandra will always be remembered for her pretty smile and beautiful blue eyes, which reflected the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone she met.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, a funeral and celebration of life will be held at a later date, when family members from abroad can join in remembering and honoring Sandra.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Sandra’s memory consider donating to the charity of their choice.
