Sarah May Gonzales

Sarah May McGuire Gonzales, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on the morning of March 5,2023. Sarah was born on July 29, 1934 to Alice Crane Mcguire and George Mcguire in Kansas City Missouri. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, adoring husband Joseph Michael Gonzales, 2 children that did not survive birth, elder sister Georgia Mcguire Todd, younger brother Jerry Mcguire, and grandson Zachary Moon.

On August 3, 1950 Sarah and Joe married. Together they had 5 children. Son, George and Carrie Gonzales, and daughters Alice and John Wright, Theresa and Ruben Garcia, Lucy and Michael Drechsel, and Sarah Michelle Gonzales.  She had 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, totaling 56 Grandkids! 

Sarah loved crocheting, gardening, reading, crafting, cuddling her favorite granddog Louie, watching the Royals, but most of all, enjoying time with her family.

Visitation will be 12PM, with services to follow at 1PM, Wednesday, March 8 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.

In honor of Sarah’s favorite color, we encourage guests to wear pink.
