Sherry Lynn Huntington

Sherry Lynn Huntington, born in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 1, 1946, passed away at her home in Topeka, Kansas, on August 22, 2025, at the age of seventy-eight.

Sherry was the daughter of Mack McCorkle and Helen Schmidt, and is now reunited with her sisters Dina May McCorkle and Becky McCorkle.

Sherry built a long and steady career in banking, where her sharp mind and dedicated work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Family was the center of Sherry’s world. She loved her two sons, George “Chris” F. Huntington IV and Peter Joseph Huntington, with her whole heart. She took great pride in the men they became, known for their integrity and kindness to those around them. She cherished her daughters-in-law, Laura Huntington and Joni Huntington. Sherry was most proud to be a Nona to her granddaughter, Alexandra Huntington, who was her greatest treasure. She was also known as a Mamaw to all cats, welcoming every furry companion with affection and care.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at eleven o’clock in the morning at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 Route 291, Liberty, Missouri. The funeral service will follow at twelve o’clock noon. Burial will then follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri, where Sherry will be laid to rest next to her family.
